The Philadelphia Saddle Club (PSC) is a unique organization where equestrians can enjoy horses without the responsibility of being a horse owner. Club members range from 18 to 90 years of age. Most are accomplished equestrians who enjoy riding along the trails of the Wissahickon River in Fairmount Park.

The Wissahickon Valley is a 1,800-acre gorge along the river. It is part of Philadelphias Fairmount Park. The Friends of the Wissahickon (http://www.fow.org/about_us.htm) is a longstanding organization (founded in 1924) with a mission "to preserve the natural beauty and wildness of the Wissahickon Valley and stimulate public interest therein." There is a Horse Show and Parade once a year to celebrate the 85 year tradition of horses (rather than motorized vehicles) on Forbidden Drive.
